This red brick house was constructed in 1886 by Alexander McInnis, blacksmith and builder. It is a two-storey single brick balloon frame house. The appearance provides a stately Victorian expression of combined home/place of business. The orginal design, still in use, displays the formal (public) front welcoming entrance and side porch portico (private/family) entrance. The porches are exquisitely ornate with brackets and strong examples of gingerbread.
