GUIDED VISITS AT THE OLD JAIL
Location: 1023 Queen Street, L'Orignal
This former prison was opened in 1825 and shut down in 1998. Since then, Patrimoine L’Orignal-Heritage Longueuil has reopened the historic premises. Under the guidance of a coordinator, events are held throughout the year. A canopy and sound system in the courtyard allows a theater group to perform a summer play.

HIGGINSON TOWER VISITS
Location: 5843 Church Street, Vankleek Hill
The Higginson Tower was first erected as a mill in the early 1830s but due to a lack of favourable winds, the Higginson family converted it to an observation tower. By the early 1900s, most of the original structure had been destroyed. In the new millennium, a devoted group set out to rebuild this landmark. The Higginson Tower was restored to its original glory and opened to the public in late 2006. See the surrounding countryside from 52 feet up!

MUSÉE DE VANKLEEK HILL MUSEUM
Location: 95, Main Street East, Vankleek Hill
Seasonal hours: Wednesday through Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., plus fall weekends to Thanksgiving & by appointment for research
A former general store, the Vankleek Hill Museum was lovingly converted into a building which houses many artefacts and records from a bygone era. A portion also serves as a tourist information centre during the summer months.

VANKLEEK HILL FARMERS’ MARKET
Location: Hill Collegiate Institute, cafetorium 5814 Highway 34 / cafétorium du VCI
The Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market has been offering fresh local produce to consumers for close to 20 years. Exhibitors go indoors to the cafetorium during the cold season, but they show their wares outside VCI during the summer months.
