No matter where you live, chances are you will face some challenging driving conditions in the months ahead. Freezing rain, snow, sleet, and whiteouts can make winter driving downright dangerous.
According to the Federal Railroad Administration, there is a spike in railroad crossing collisions during the winter months. This is due to many factors, including:
- Ice and snow making it harder for drivers to stop and manoeuvre their vehicles

Champlain, December 4, 2023 - The 2023 Champlain Christmas Parade held on December 1st in Vankleek Hill was another great success. This is the second year that Champlain Township hosts the annual Christmas Parade and it did not disappoint. Over 200 people and 40 floats from local businesses and organizations participated with their lit-up and creatively decorated tractors, trucks, cars and trailers to share in the joy that the season brings. Champlain, November 24, 2023 - The 2023 Champlain Christmas Parade will be taking place in Vankleek Hill on Friday, December 1st at 6 : 30 p.m.

NOTICE: Vankleek Hill Water Discolouration

Champlain, November 20, 2023 - The water in Vankleek Hill has been tainted yellow since Sunday evening which was caused by the dislodging of residue in watermain pipes from the refilling of fire truck tankers following a barn fire. The water colour is only cosmetic and does not impact health, as confirmed by OCWA’s (Ontario Clean Water Agency) follow-up. Flushing of water for at least 5 minutes may be required to eliminate the water colour issue
