Champlain, October 5, 2023 - Broken Watermain on Peter Street and Where to Get Water
Early this morning at around 6:45AM, a flatbed transport hit the hydrant at the corner of Peter and King Street causing a major leak to the L’Orignal Water Distribution System. Video footage shows a flatbed truck hitting the hydrant and never stopping - a “hit and Run”.
The hydrant was part of the temporary bypass network for the watermain work being done on King Street and the main line feeding all of L’Orignal...

The annual household hazardous waste collection day will be taking place this Saturday, October 7, from 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Dispose of your HHW (household hazardous waste) safely and easily. It’s offered for free to residents of Champlain Township (proof of residence required).

Water Restored to King Street

Champlain, October 3 - The King Street watermain has been repaired and water has been restored
Please be advised that due to the rinsing of the watermain, water may be cloudy or discoloured. This is only cosmetic and is safe to drink. It can be cleared up by running a cold water tap for a short period of time (about 15 minutes) or until it becomes colorless again.
