Annual Large Waste Items Collection Postponed

The Township of Champlain would like to advise the public that the annual large waste collection scheduled for May has been postponed to the fall. The opening of the municipal landfill, planned for May 1, has also been delayed to a later date.

Adoption of a 2022 Budget Focused on Our Community

Champlain, February 16, 2022 – At its regular meeting on February 10, the Township of Champlain Council adopted the 2022 municipal budget of $21.7 million, with an operating budget of $15,073,652 and capital projects of $6,647,160.

For 2022, the property tax rate is increased by 2.61%. For a house with an average property assessment of $225,247, the increase represents $69.89:

  • $41.95 for the municipal portion (3%)
  • $27.94 for the United Counties portion (3%).
  • No increase in school taxes
