L’Orignal, November 23, 2022 – During the annual swearing-in ceremony held earlier this evening, Mr. Normand Riopel, Mayor of the Township of Champlain, was acclaimed Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) for the year 2023. On the same occasion, the Mayors from the region were sworn in as Members of the Council for the 2022 to 2026 term.

Book on Every Bed

For over 10 years, the Champlain Library has been providing children with a new book at Christmas through the “Book on Every Bed” campaign.

The Library is looking for donations of new books so that children whose families are recipients of Christmas baskets from the Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal Food Banks will wake up Christmas morning with a book on his or her bed.

The Township of Champlain Receives a Major Donation of $60,000 From the Knights of Columbus of L’Orignal St-Jean Baptiste

Champlain Township, November 10, 2022 - It is with great gratitude that the Township of Champlain announces a contribution of $60,000 from the Knights of Columbus Council of St. Jean Baptiste from L'Orignal.

The 2022 Champlain Remembrance Day Ceremonies will be conducted at L'Orignal Cenotaph in L'Orignal Park at 11 a.m.  and at Vankleek Hill Cenotaph in Town Square Park at 2:00 p.m. on November 6, 2022, thanks to Hawkesbury Legion.
