The UCPR announces the creation of an innovative food hub in Eastern Ontario

New funding available for Businesses

On April 17, 2020, the Government of Canada announced $250 million in funding for the Innovation Assistance Program (IAP) to assist Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

IRAP IAP provides a wage subsidy to eligible employers for up to 12 weeks.

SMEs pursuing technology-driven innovation who have been unable to secure funding under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) are eligible and can apply for financial assistance under IRAP IAP.

Important clarification about Fire Ban

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION ABOUT FIRE BAN

In Champlain, the Fire ban is still in effect and open fires are prohibited.

On April 14, the Township amended the full fire ban to permit campfires and burning in a container.

Flags to half-mast

Flags at Champlain Township Hall and Construction Building have been lowered to half-mast to honour the victims in the tragic shooting in Nova Scotia.

This symbolic gesture expresses the solidarity of the members of the municipal council, municipal employees and the entire population of the township towards the communities affected by this terrible event.

Our hearts go out to the families of the victims as well as to all residents of Nova Scotia in this tragedy.
