Public meeting: Retail business Holiday

The Council of the Township of Champlain is considering passing a by-law which would permit all retail businesses to be open on certain statutory holidays.
As per Section 4 (6) of the Retail Business Holiday Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.R.30, the Township must hold a public meeting in respect to the proposed by-law and permit any person who attends the public meeting the opportunity to make representations in respect of the proposed by-law.

Cancellation of hearing by the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal

We have been advised that the hearing of the appeals that is scheduled to proceed, commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, and continuing thereafter with a five-week calendar duration, in accordance with the Tribunal’s decision and Procedural Order issued on October 6, 2017, has been cancelled by the Tribunal.
