Champlain Township wishes to reassure the population that the current water level of the Ottawa River is normal for this time of the year. At this moment, there is no indication of flooding.
However, with precipitation forecasted for the weekend, the Township of Champlain is keeping a close watch on the flood waters. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s (MNRF) Kemptville District Office is advising
area residents that a Flood Watch statement is in effect for the residents along the northeastern reaches of the Ottawa River in the District.
Residents living in the City of Clarence-Rockland, the Town of Hawkesbury, and in the Townships of East Hawkesbury and Champlain should stay away from fast-moving rivers and streams and regularly check updated messages about spring weather conditions.

We are please to announce that the water main break in Vankleek Hill has been repaired. Affected property owners will start getting water around at 2:00 p.m. today. No boil water advisory is needed, water is safe to consume.
