WATERSHED CONDITIONS: Flood Outlook Statement – Update
This statement is an update to the Flood Outlook statement issued March 8, 2019

Weather Forecast:

Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts above-freezing temperatures next week. The current short-term forecast indicates minimal amounts of precipitation.

Environmental Conditions:

Since issuing the last statement, the South Nation Conservation (SNC) stream gauges across the jurisdiction have recorded a slight increase in water levels but remain below average for this time of year. Snowpack and ice thickness across the watershed remain above average for this time of the year.

Risks:

Forecasted above-freezing temperatures will cause snow to melt, and water levels are expected to increase which may cause flooding in low lying areas and increased potential for ice jams.
