Request for quotation No. PWT2026-02 Closing Date: Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Status: Open The Township of Champlain is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the installation of sidewalks and curbs. Description of the worksThe following is a general but not necessarily complete description of the works to be constructed under this contract. The work includes but is not limited to the installation of sidewalks, mountable and barrier curbs as follows. Description of the Work for Sidewalks and Curbs:The Contractor shall survey all existing conditions of curb and sidewalk (Dewar Cr, in Vankleek Hill; Bobois St and Court St in L’Orignal) and required elevation (grade) to provide new alignment and grade to allow for proper drainage. The Contractor shall survey the existing road profile. The contractor shall provide layout and grade of the new mountable curb to accommodate drainage along Pendleton St. The new curb design will need to be approved by the Director of Public Works or designate. The Contractor shall be responsible for excavating the existing curb and fill material. The Contractor shall be responsible to dispose of the excavated concrete to an approved waste disposal site. The Champlain landfill site is currently not available for concrete waste. The excess soils not reused will be stored at a Vankleek Hill site for future use by the Township. The Contractor shall supply at its cost all granular “A” material to the site as requested by the Contractor. The Contractor shall place a minimum of 200 mm of granular “A” bedding compacted to 100% S.P.D. The Contractor shall supply forms and place concrete (MTO mix) as specified below. Fly ash shall not be accepted in the mix. The Contractor must provide the Director of Public Works with the mix design prior to placing any concrete as per O.P.S.S. 904 (or any amendments thereto). Examination of SiteBidders should visit the site of the works before submitting their Tenders and should satisfy themselves by personal examination as to the total conditions to be met with during the construction and conduct of the work. They shall make their own estimate of the facilities and difficulties to be encountered including the natures of the materials and conditions.
