The 2022 Champlain Remembrance Day Ceremonies will be conducted at L'Orignal Cenotaph in L'Orignal Park at 11 a.m. and at Vankleek Hill Cenotaph in Town Square Park at 2:00 p.m. on November 6, 2022, thanks to Hawkesbury Legion.
The importance of a live ceremony honouring our Veterans and their sacrifices is paramount. As so many other commemorations have been cancelled or delayed by the pandemic, paying homage to past sacrifices and before the eyes of those that served is more important now than ever.
This year marks the 77th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. At 11:00 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month, a moment of silence will be observed to honour all who have fallen and acknowledge those who have served for our freedom. Lest we forget.
Wreaths
Laying of the wreaths is typically a significant part of the Remembrance Day Ceremony. Members of the community, local organizations, or businesses that would like to place a wreath at the Memorial Square cenotaph are asked to make arrangements in advance with Hawkesbury Legion.
