On March 8 every year, International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated to mark women and their achievements. This year, the campaign theme is to create a more inclusive world for women. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we create a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of women everywhere, including those right here at Town Hall. From our dedicated administrative staff to our visionary Council members, women play pivotal roles in shaping our community's future every day. Let's continue to uplift, empower, and support one another as we strive for equality and progress. Here's to strong women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them!
Organizations and groups can #InspireInclusion through action in areas such as:
- Forging women's economic empowerment
- Recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent
- Supporting women and girls into leadership, decision-making, business and STEM
- Designing and building infrastructure meeting the needs of women and girls
- Involving women and girls in sustainable agriculture and food security
- Providing women and girls with access to quality education and training
- Elevating women and girl's participation and achievement in sport
- Promoting creative and artistic talent of women and girls.
