Notice of a complete application, public meeting and official plan amendment - May 2025

Champlain Township, April 30, 2025 - Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Champlain received a complete application and will hold a Public Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 at the United Counties of Prescott and Russell County Office, 59 Court Street, L'Orignal, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Plan for the Urban Areas (L’Orignal) of the Township of Champlain and to the Zoning By-law No. 2000-75 of the Township of Champlain under Sections 17 and 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. The affected property is municipally known as 952 Marston Street and legally known as PLAN 15 LOT 2 N MARSTON ST; RP 46R8273 PARTS 1 AND 2.

The proposed Official Plan Amendment is to permit a site-specific exception in the “Village Core” designation to permit a single detached dwelling.

The purpose and effect of the zoning by-law amendment is to rezone the subject property from Commercial Core (CC) to Commercial Core, Special Exception X (CC-X) in order to permit a single detached dwelling with the provisions of the Residential One (R1) zone as described in Section 5.1.b.
