Champlain, May 12, 2025 - The Township of Champlain will begin flushing its hydrants on May 27, with operations continuing periodically until June 20, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Please note that while these are the planned dates, daily progress may result in some adjustments. However, all flushing will be completed within the stated timeframe.
Hydrant flushing is essential for maintaining water quality and system efficiency. It helps remove accumulated rust and sediment from the watermains by increasing water flow and directing it through predetermined flushing routes.
What to Expect:

No water service interruptions will occur.

You may notice temporary discolouration (a slight reddish tint) and lower water pressure.

We recommend avoiding water usage, especially laundry, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to prevent staining.

If water appears discoloured, run a cold water tap for about 15 minutes or until the water clears.
