Champlain Township Is Looking for a Chief Administrative Officer

Township of Champlain, December 19, 2022 - The Township of Champlain is currently hiring a Chief Administrative Officer for the municipality. The position was held by Mrs. Paula Knudsen from 2014 to November 2021. The Treasurer, Kevin Tessier, has been filling in since as Acting CAO.

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the most senior, non-elected officer in the Township’s administrative structure and is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Township. The CAO is appointed by and reports directly to Council and is required to implement plans, policies, and projects as approved by Council.

The CAO is also responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Senior Management Team overseeing the human, financial and physical resources of the Township to ensure that Council’s policies and directives are carried out. The CAO also represents the Township as a key contributor for matters involving the Province and other municipalities.
