Champlain Township Joins the White Ribbon Campaign

Champlain, November 24, 2023 - Champlain Township Joins the White Ribbon Campaign

At last night's Council meeting, the men of Champlain Council and Champlain Administration took part in the Prescott and Russell White Ribbon Campaign led by Maison Interlude House. This international awareness campaign which runs from November 25 to December 10 during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence aims to rally men and boys as allies in the fight to end gender-based violence and to promote gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.

"We are proud to support this important cause and invite all members of our community to join us in this campaign to raise awareness that this is still an unfortunate problem we face in our communities. We stand together today and during every day of the year to promote gender equality and to end violence against women and girls," proclaimed Normand Riopel, Champlain Mayor.

Interlude House helps over 500 women in Eastern Ontario each year. For support or to learn more about their mission, visit Maison Interlude House's website.
