COVID-19 Coronavirus – Message from the Mayor
This is a challenging time for us all and as Mayor, I want to assure all residents and business owners that the Township will continue to do everything it can to maintain necessary services while minimizing community risk. We are aware of the pressures many of you are facing and we are committed to working with the provincial and federal governments to ensure that the necessary support programs are accessible.
As previously announced, we have closed the Arena, the Community Centre and the Town Hall and we have cancelled all of our activities and events. To protect employees and the community, we have also closed the Building office to the public. We will continue to be available during regular business hours by phone or email to address questions and concerns of residents.
Please follow the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) recommendations to protect yourself and your family and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to others. If you have travelled outside of Canada you should self-isolate for 14 days and monitor yourself for symptoms of the coronavirus. If you have symptoms of coronavirus or live with someone who does, please stay at home. All persons over 70 years of age and individuals who are immunocompromised are advised to self-isolate. We must all practice social distancing.
This is an anxious and stressful time for everyone. Self-isolating can affect your mood. Don’t hesitate to use other ways to connect with people you care about; phone, text or video call.Take care of your mental health by doing something that makes you feel good.
We are a great community. Each of us has a role to play. I trust that, together, we will overcome the challenges we face today with the COVID-19 pandemic. By working together, we will make a difference.
Stay healthy!
