Firefighter’s Gala Raises Funds for Local and Regional Causes

Champlain Township, November 7, 2024 – Champlain Township proudly hosted the annual Prescott and Russell Mutual Aid Association Firefighter’s Gala on October 5, 2024. Thanks to the generous support of our community, this year’s gala successfully raised funds that will make a meaningful impact across several important causes in our region.

The proceeds have been donated as follows:

• Hawkesbury General Hospital (HGH): $3,000, with $1,500 directed to Mental Health Services and $1,500 toward Cancer Treatment. These funds support essential services for residents facing health challenges close to home.
• Local Food Banks: $2,000, with $1,000 each for L’Orignal and Vankleek Hill Food Banks. This contribution will aid in the fight against food insecurity within our community.
• Ross Tilley Burn Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital: $1,000 in support of specialized burn care and recovery services for burn victims.

This fundraising achievement reflects the commitment of our local firefighters, volunteers, and residents who came together to make this event a success. The Champlain Township extends its gratitude to everyone involved in the gala, from our dedicated committee members and volunteers to those who attended and contributed.
