Flags at Half-Mast - Tragedy in Tumbler Ridge, BC

Champlain, February 12, 2026 - In recognition of the tragedy that occurred in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, on February 10, 2026, the Township of Champlain has lowered the flags at all municipal buildings to half-mast, in accordance with the national guidelines for half-masting the National Flag of Canada (Sections 10 and 16).

On behalf of Council and staff, we offer our sincere condolences to the families, loved ones, and all those impacted by this heartbreaking event.

Flags will remain at half-mast until sunset on February 17, 2026.
