Champlain Township, March 11, 2026 - Significant Weather Event Declared

Due to a hazardous weather alert issued by Environment Canada for March 11, 2026, the Township of Champlain has declared a Significant Weather Event.

This declaration temporarily suspends the timelines normally required under the Minimum Maintenance Standards for winter operations. Municipal crews will continue maintaining roads and sidewalks; however, it may take longer than usual to restore them to normal conditions.

Periods of freezing rain are expected, which may create icy surfaces and may also lead to power outages. Residents are encouraged to take precautions, stay informed, and avoid non-essential travel whenever possible.
