SPRING FLOOD - CHAMPLAIN UPDATE 8

NEW UPDATE ON RISK OF FLOODING.

Champlain, April 28, 2019, 9:30 a.m.– Champlain Township is providing an update on the risk of flooding.

The water level has only slightly risen during the night; there is no cause for immediate concern. We have a large amount of sandbags ready to adjust to any change in the situation. We will not call for a solidarity blitz to fill sandbags today. Many thanks to all the volunteers who filled sandbags yesterday.

Municipal crews are closely monitoring the entire territory to ensure the safety of the residents. Firefighters are helping protect property by erecting and adjusting sandbag barriers. A combination of advanced planning, alertness and hard-work kept the situation stable and we are happy about that.

Important phone numbers:

• If you are concerned by a rapid or even gradual rise in the water level, call
