At the April 9, 2020 meeting, the council adopted the two following resolutions.
Water and Sewer taxes
Canada is facing the novel Covid-19 virus and the impact on the economy is significant. Covid-19 is affecting household income of Township residents as well. The water and sewer billing for the period of January to March is usually due around the 15th of April.
To provide payment relief to citizens, it has been resolved that the payment for water and sewer taxes is postponed until May 29, 2020 and that penalty fees for water and sewer taxes suspended until June 1, 2020.
Bags limit allowed for waste collection
Since more people are at home generating more waste so therefore the Township of Champlain has increased the garbage bag allowance from 2 bags per week to 3 bags per week until further notice.
Please note that leaves should not be included in your garbage. We realize that storing leaves on your property until our Municipal landfill reopens may be an inconvenience to some however we trust that our residents will follow the rules and remain patient during these trying times.
The official resolutions will be published as soon as possible.
