The Township of Champlain is excited to explore a new initiative to help residents divert food waste from landfills through in-home composting solutions. By partnering with FoodCycle Science, we aim to reduce the amount of organic waste going to the landfill and encourage more sustainable habits at home. To determine if this program is feasible, we are seeking input from residents to see if there is enough interest to launch a pilot study.
In order for the Township to move forward with the program, we need at least 100 presale units BEFORE OCTOBER 22. Residents who wish to get a unit will need to:
- Provide their contact information and full address (through the online form).
- Pay the full amount of the unit (once project is approved by Council).
Once 100 units are presaled, Champlain Council will evaluate whether to proceed with the investment. If the project is approved, participants will be required to pay their FoodCycler unit.
How the Pilot Program Works
- Purchase a FoodCycler unit: Choose between the regular unit ($150) or a large unit ($300).
- Track your usage: Participants will need to track the number of cycles completed over a 12-week period.
- Complete a survey: After the 12 weeks, participants will be asked to fill out a short survey to share their feedback and experience.
