About the 2026 Township of Champlain Municipal and School Board Election
In 2026, Township of Champlain residents and property owners will be able to cast their vote in the Municipal and School Board Elections from anywhere with internet access or telephone service. This means eligible voters will have the ability to vote from the comfort of their own home, on the go, and at a voting help centre – more information on voting will be available in 2026.
Eligible voters will elect several different positions including:
- Mayor;
- Eight (8) Councillors (two per Ward); and
- School Board Trustees (elected at large) for each of the four (4) school boards
Once elected, members of Council serve a four-year term. The elections will be conducted for a term of office commencing November 15, 2026 and ending November 14, 2030.

Who Can I Vote For?
The following is the unofficial list of candidates for the 2026 Municipal Elections. These persons have filed a nomination form with the Clerk’s office between May 1, 2026 and August 21, 2026 at 2:00p.m. (close of nominations). This list will be updated regularly during the Nomination Period.
The Clerk will examine the nominations on or before 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 and a certified list of Candidates will be published at that time.
