Champlain's Landfill
The Township of Champlain operates and maintains a landfill site located at 1897 Cassburn Road, L'Orignal.
Closed for the 2026 operating season
The Township of Champlain is working with the MECP on renewing the landfill’s approval, and due to additional testing requirements, the site will remain closed until further notice pending results and Council direction.
Residents requiring disposal of household, construction, or organic waste may do so at Gilles R. Mayer Sanitation Ltd. (613-632-2581) or GFL Environmental Inc. (613-538-2776). Fees apply and may differ from those at the Champlain landfill.
The municipal landfill site provides residents with a safe and responsible option for disposing of waste that cannot be collected through regular curbside service. Accepted materials may include household waste, recyclables, yard waste, and other approved items.
Residents are encouraged to sort materials properly before arrival and follow site rules and staff instructions at all times. All vehicles must stop for the landfill attendant and receive directions before dumping. Scavenging for materials is prohibited at the site.
