The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) is undertaking road rehabilitation work on sections of Highway 34 beginning Monday, July 13, 2026. The woris expected to continue until October 2, 2026.
Construction will take place in the following areas:
- Between Highway 417 and the south town limits of Vankleek Hill (near Zudio Studio); and
- Between Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute and Lamoureux Snack Bar, north of the County Road 17 overpass.
Throughout the project, traffic will generally be reduced to one lane, with traffic control in place to guide vehicles safely through the work zone. At certain times, temporary full road closures will be required to allow for cross-culvert replacements. Signed detour routes will be provided.
Residents and visitors travelling through the area are encouraged to drive with caution, follow all posted signage and traffic control personnel, and expect delays.
