The Township of Champlain has received a complete application for a proposed zoning amendment concerning the property located at 1765 Cassburn Road.

A Public Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the United Counties of Prescott and Russell offices, 59 Court Street, L'Orignal. Residents are welcome to attend the Public Meeting to learn more about the proposed amendment and provide comments.

The application is related to Consent Application B-024-2026 and is required as a condition of the severance of a dwelling that is surplus to an agricultural use.

Purpose and Effect of the Amendment

The purpose and effect of the zoning by-law amendment is to rezone the lands municipally known as 1765 Cassburn Road. The proposed zoning amendment is to rezone the subject property from Agriculture Zone with the Mineral Aggregate Overlay (A-ar) to:

Lot A - A-45-ar to reduce the minimum lot area to 0.5 hectares. The special exception is also to increase the total accessory building lot coverage to 534 square metres and to increase the maximum height for accessory structures to 6.5 metres in order to retain the existing accessory structures.

Lot B – A-46-ar to reduce the minimum lot area to 36 hectares and to prohibit residential uses.
