Emergency Road Closures

The Township of Champlain would like to advise residents of temporary traffic changes during the Baie Run on Saturday, July 18. Road closures and traffic restrictions will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Bay Road: The lane towards L'Orignal will be closed. Traffic will continue to flow towards Lefaivre only. Motorists travelling towards L'Orignal should follow the detour via Blue Corner Road, County Road 17, and John Street.

King Street: The lane towards Bay Road will be closed from the L'Orignal Park entrance to Bay Road. From John Street to Peter Street, Front Road will be reserved for marina access only. Motorists travelling through the area should follow the detour via Peter Street and Victoria Street. Alternating traffic will be in effect between Peter Street and the L'Orignal Park entrance.

Blue Corner Road: Both lanes will remain open. Traffic control personnel will be on site, and a reduced speed zone will be in effect.

Both the L'Orignal Park boat launch and the L'Orignal Marina boat launch will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for participant safety. The L'Orignal Marina will remain open for boaters accessing vessels that are already in the water; however, launching or retrieving boats will not be permitted during this time. Vehicle access to the marina requires crossing the race route, creating potential conflicts with runners. Parking will also be significantly limited, and increased traffic congestion is expected within L'Orignal Park during the event.

The Township thanks residents for their patience and cooperation while this community event takes place.

To everyone participating in the Baie Run, whether you're running or walking, we wish you the very best of luck! Thank you for promoting an active, healthy lifestyle and helping make our community stronger.
