The Champlain Library is hosting a special National Film Board movie night that takes a closer look at the pursuit of fame in the age of social media.
Join us on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. for a screening of Anything for Fame, a documentary that explores the ruthless world of online celebrity and the young influencers willing to gamble everything for a chance at fame and fortune. The film is presented in English with French subtitles.
Anything for Fame ventures into the virtual Wild West of the Internet, following an ambitious, and sometimes reckless, new generation of content creators. As influencers compete for views, followers, and attention, the film examines what people are willing to risk when going viral becomes the goal.
What happens when getting noticed becomes more important than almost anything else? How far will people go for fame? And what are the consequences when the pursuit of an audience takes over?
