On June 30, the L’Orignal Park and Beach were buzzing with energy as a record crowd filled the area to take in the festivities. Side streets throughout L’Orignal were packed with vehicles and families walking toward the waterfront, showing just how much the community embraced the return of this special celebration. The evening featured a dynamic live performance by L’Orignal’s own Justin Roy, whose powerful vocals even accompanied the first few moments of the spectacular fireworks display that created a breathtaking, patriotic moment that won’t soon be forgotten.
Adding to the festive spirit, the L’Orignal Food Bank debuted its new treat—Moose Antlers, a local twist on the classic Beaver Tail that was a hit with festival-goers. In true community spirit, the Knights of Columbus handed out free popcorn to everyone.
The fun continued on July 1 with family day festivities, where families enjoyed inflatable games, a giant slip and slide down the hill, and festive beats from a live DJ. The beach was a hub of activity as children splashed in the water and families relaxed. The crowd was also treated to a Mojo Magic Show and a live caricature artist.
"We are thrilled with the tremendous turnout and delighted to see so many members of our community, as well as many visitors from neighboring municipalities, enjoying the festivities we have to offer. Our association is proud to help bring this kind of family fun to the region, especially since the proceeds from the event are donated to organizations that make a difference in our community. A huge thank you to the members of the L'Orignal Firefighters Association and their families for their loyal support year after year. I would like to extend a special thank you to Audrey Normand and Marie Seguin for their help in organizing this event. Also, to Jean Pilon and Ben Tessier, who prepare our legendary beef Kaisers every year," shared François Bellemare, firefighter with Champlain Township Fire and Emergency Services (L’Orignal Fire Station) and co-organizer of the Canada Day event since 2014
“Canada Day is one of the biggest events of the year, and while it takes long days and a lot of hard work, seeing the community show up in such large numbers makes it all worthwhile. I’m incredibly proud of our Parks and Recreation team and grateful to our volunteers and event partners for their energy and dedication. It’s always a pleasure to co-host with the L’Orignal Firefighters Association. And a big thank you to Magic Sky Pyrotechnie for the spectacular fireworks show over the river, it truly gets better and more breathtaking each year!” expressed Sydney Collard, Director of Parks and Recreation of Champlain Township
The Township would like to extend its gratitude to the organizing committee, including co-organizers, the Association des pompiers de L’Orignal, and the Champlain Recreation Department, for their hard work and dedication.
We also sincerely thank all our generous sponsors and event partners for making this celebration possible:
