The Champlain Accessibility Working Group (CAWG) advises and helps the Township develop strategies toward a barrier-free Champlain for people with disabilities. The goal is to review municipal policies, programs and services to make sure they follow provincial accessibility standards. The CAWG works to identify, prevent and remove any barriers faced by people with disabilities.

Champlain Township invites applications from community residents with disabilities, as defined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2025, (AODA) interested in participating in its Accessibility Working Group.  The Group is responsible for reviewing the Township’s Accessibility Policy, Five-Year Accessibility Plan and up-coming municipal projects.

Participation in the Accessibility Working Group is on a volunteer basis. The group will meet, either in person or virtually on an “as-required” basis.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a letter confirming their qualifications and outlining their interest to the Clerk no later than April 30, 2026.
