News and Public Notices

Champlain, August 1, 2025 - With just one month left before the start of the school year, the Township of Champlain is inviting children aged 16 and under to take part in a sweet summer scavenger hunt organized by the Champlain Recreation Department.

Coupons for a free single scoop ice cream cone have been hidden in seven participating parks across the Township. Each coupon is clearly marked with the name of the business where it can be redeemed — some are valid at The Broken Kettle Bakery in Vankleek Hill, while others can be used at The Big Marc at Blue Corner.

Participating parks include:

Mill Street Park

Woodhills Park

L’Orignal Park and Beach

Laurier-Pilon Park

Miner Park

Sacha’s Park

Desjardins-Laurentian Park

Only one coupon per person. Participants must be 16 years of age or younger. Coupons have no cash value and expire on August 31, 2025.

This initiative is a fun way for youth to stay active, explore local parks, and cool off with a well-deserved summer treat—on the Township!
