Municipal Elections in the Township of Champlain will take place for the offices of Mayor and Councillors (2) in three Wards – L’Orignal, Longueuil and West Hawkesbury for a four (4) year term.
(Councillors in Vankleek Hill and all School Board Trustees have been acclaimed.)

From 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Voting Period
You may vote at any time
from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018
until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018
Voter Qualifications
In order to vote in this election, a person must:
- be a resident in the Township of Champlain or an owner or tenant of land in the Township of Champlain or the spouse of an owner or tenant; and
- be a Canadian citizen; and
- be at least 18 years old; and
- not be prohibited from voting under subsection 17(3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or otherwise by law.
Voting Method
Voting can only be done by telephone or by Internet.
Each eligible and registered elector on the Voters' List will personally and individually receive, by first-class mail, a "Voter Information Letter" containing the following information:
- the toll free number to call for voting purposes and the website address;
- your personalized (and confidential) Identification Number (PIN);
- the candidates nominated for each office and instructions on how to vote; and
- the telephone number of the Help Centre for those individuals requiring assistance or information.
Help Centre
located at the Town Hall, 948 Pleasant Corner Road East, Vankleek Hill will be open between October 17 and October 22 as follows:
- Wednesday, October 17 to Friday, October 19 between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 between 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Monday, October 22 between 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Voters are encouraged to vote early during the voting period.
Voting Proxies
Since the purpose of telephone and internet voting is to allow electors to vote from their home or from wherever they wish, and to offer a longer voting time period, the voting proxies are not applicable and no longer necessary.
